Warhawks Earn Road Victory at Enterprise State
Enterprise, AL – Calhoun men's soccer showed impressive resilience on the road Saturday, October 11, earning a 3–1 victory over Enterprise State.
The Boll Weevils struck first, continuing a trend the Warhawks have battled all season by conceding an early goal to fall behind 1–0. Calhoun responded quickly as Anthony Ortiz found the back of the net to level the score at 1–1. Just before halftime, James Brown buried a chance to give the Warhawks a 2–1 lead heading into the break.
The second half was all Calhoun, with the Warhawks creating chance after chance and dictating the pace of play. Their persistence paid off when Anthony Ortiz struck again, sealing the 3–1 victory with his second goal of the day.
Head Coach Felix Obilo praised his team's performance, saying, "I'm really proud of the way the guys responded after conceding early. In the past, we've let moments like that define the match, but today they stayed composed, stuck to the game plan, and fought their way back. That resilience is exactly what we've been working toward."
The Warhawks (2-9) will travel to Copiah-Lincoln on Friday, October 17, before closing out their inaugural season on Sunday, October 19, at Southern Union.
