Warhawks Drop Final Home Game to Wallace State
Decatur, AL – Calhoun men's soccer closed out their home slate on Friday night with a 6-0 loss to Wallace State. The match was largely controlled by the Lions, who continuously found gaps in the Warhawk defense to create quality scoring chances and capitalized on most of them.
The Warhawks worked to generate some attacking rhythm midway through the first half, but each push forward was quickly answered by Wallace's well organized defense and counterattacks. The Lions' pace and precision in the final third proved difficult for Calhoun to contain as the match wore on.
Head Coach Felix Obilo was disappointed with the performance. "This was five steps back for us as a team," Obilo said. "We didn't play together, and we let mental errors give them open looks at our net. We need to re-evaluate in practice this week so we can correct course for the next one."
Calhoun (1-8) will look to bounce back on Tuesday, October 7, when they travel to face Northeast Alabama at 7 p.m.
