The Vols mounted one last push in the seventh, cutting the lead to two and bringing the go-ahead run to the plate, but Calhoun secured the final out on a deep fly ball to seal the 11-9 victory.

"That's a team capable of making a national championship run, and we proved we can compete with programs at that level. You could see the toll the schedule took on us in game two, but we'll take the day tomorrow to rest and recover, and get back at it again here on Friday."
The Warhawks (10-9) return to action Friday, Feb. 27, hosting Lake Land College (IL) for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
