Bracket Released for Volleyball National Championship
Decatur, AL – The stage is officially set for the NJCAA Division II Volleyball National Championship, and the Warhawks are ready to make their national tournament debut. The event will be held November 19–22 at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, featuring the top 20 teams in the country competing for the 2025 national title.
Calhoun (31-3), the NJCAA Region 22 and Gulf South District Champions, earned the No. 16 seed and will face No. 17 Monroe University (NY) in the opening round. Monroe enters the tournament with a 34-6 record, capturing both the Region 19 and Mid-Atlantic District Championships.
The Warhawks and Mustangs share two common opponents this season, offering a glimpse of what could be a tightly matched opening-round contest. Monroe fell to Enterprise State on August 24 by a 1-3 margin (25-23, 13-25, 10-25, 16-25), while Calhoun defeated Enterprise 3-1 on September 26 (25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 27-25). Both teams also faced Lurleen B. Wallace, with Monroe sweeping 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 25-19) and Calhoun winning twice, including a 3-1 victory in the Region 22 Championship (21-25, 25-19, 25-17, 26-24).
The first-round matchup between Calhoun and Monroe is set for Wednesday, November 19 at 9:00 a.m. The winner will advance to face top-seeded Kirkwood later that day at 5:30 p.m., while the loser will move into the consolation bracket to play on Thursday, November 20 against the loser of No. 2 Heartland vs. No. 15 Sauk Valley/No. 18 Davidson-Davie.
