Warhawks Finish 5th at Jefferson Invitational
Jasper, AL – Calhoun Men's Golf wrapped up its fall schedule this week with a solid fifth-place finish at the Jefferson State Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at Musgrove Country Club. The Warhawks battled through challenging course conditions to place 5th out of 16 teams in a strong regional field.
AJ Bradford and Jayce Hutchens paced Calhoun, each finishing the 36-hole event at +8, while Jesse Kilgore and Reece Hardiman followed closely behind at +9 apiece. Sammy Holmes rounded out the team scoring, and Jackson Yeager competed individually for the Warhawks.
Head Coach Richard Morgan said the event was a fitting test to close out the semester. "We didn't play our best golf this week, but still finishing fifth in this field says a lot about how far our group has come," Morgan said. "Our depth continues to improve, and that gives me a lot of confidence heading into the spring. We've got the pieces to compete at a really high level when we put it all together."
The Jefferson State Invitational marks the conclusion of Calhoun's fall season. The Warhawks will now turn their focus to offseason development before returning to tournament play in the spring.
