King Tallies Three Assists as Warhawks Down Ambassadors
Decatur, AL – Calhoun women's soccer delivered a dominant performance on Thursday, October 16, shutting out Oakwood University 6-0 in front of their home crowd. The Warhawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead at halftime, setting the tone early and never letting up.
Reagan Black found the back of the net twice in the opening half, followed by goals from Nina Brown and Nayeli Sena. In the second half, Kate James added two more goals to cap off the offensive showcase. Madigyn King was a key facilitator, recording three assists on the night.
Head Coach Andrew McCartney praised his team's execution and confidence: "We came out sharp tonight and really set the tone early," McCartney said. "The ball movement, the energy, the finishing, it was all there. This is exactly the type of performance you want to see heading into the postseason."
Calhoun (4-7) will now hit the road on Wednesday, October 22, traveling to Roane State before turning their focus to the conference championship game.
