#23 Warhawks Sweep Bevill, Means and Schwabe Earn ACCC Honors
Jasper, AL – No. 23 nationally-ranked Calhoun volleyball made quick work of Bevill State on Wednesday, October 15, earning a 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-11, 25-18, 25-10. The Warhawks controlled the match from start to finish for another dominant conference win.
Laney Kelley continued her standout season, hitting .583 on the night to lead a sharp Calhoun attack. Lucy Means recorded 10 digs and 12 assists, while Maddie Schwabe added six aces to go with her steady setting.
Both Lucy Means and Maddie Schwabe were also recognized this week by the Alabama Community College Conference, with Means named Defensive Player of the Week and Schwabe earning Setter of the Week honors.
Head Coach Jamiee Freeman praised her team's focus on the road: "We came in ready to take care of business, and that's exactly what we did," Freeman said. "I love how sharp and locked in the group was from the first serve to the last. It was a great, quick win to keep our momentum rolling."
Calhoun (22-3) will be back on the road Sunday, October 19, at 3 p.m. to take on Wallace State (21-4) in a marquee conference matchup.
