Warhawks Fall on the Road to Southern Union
Wadley, AL – Calhoun women's soccer dropped a 4–0 road match on Friday, October 10, against Southern Union.
The Bison came out firing, taking control early and jumping out to a 4–0 lead by halftime after a dominant first half. Calhoun regrouped during the break and responded with a strong second-half performance, controlling much of the possession and creating several quality chances. However, the Warhawks were unable to find the back of the net to chip away at the deficit.
Head Coach Andrew McCartney reflected on the match, saying, "It really was a tale of two halves. In the first half, we didn't look like ourselves and dug a hole we couldn't climb out of. But I was proud of the way the team responded after halftime, the girls showed composure and played the way we know we can."
Calhoun (3–7) will return to action on Friday, October 17, when they travel to Itawamba for a 3 p.m. kick.
