Volleyball Rolls Past Southern Union
Decatur, AL – Calhoun Volleyball kept its momentum rolling Tuesday night with a dominant sweep of Southern Union State Community College. The Warhawks controlled the match from start to finish, earning set wins of 25-10, 25-8, and 25-19.
Maddie Schwabe set the tone with 18 assists and five aces, while Ava Boyll added six kills, two aces, and six digs to lead a balanced effort. Lucy Means chipped in with an ace, three assists, and four digs, and Amber Holshouser contributed nine assists and an ace as the Warhawks kept pressure on the visiting Bison throughout the match.
"This was a really solid team win," said Head Coach Jamiee Freeman. "We were aggressive early, stayed disciplined on defense, and carried that intensity throughout the night. Everyone who stepped on the court made an impact, and that's what makes this group special."
With the victory, Calhoun improves to 9-1 on the season. The Warhawks will be back in action on Wednesday, September 10, when they travel to face Gadsden State. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
