History Made: Warhawks Compete in Program's First-Ever Women's Soccer Match
Tullahoma, TN - Calhoun Women's Soccer made history on August 23, 2025 as the Warhawks took the field for the program's first-ever match, traveling to Motlow State to open the 2025 season against the 17th-ranked Bucks.
While the Warhawks fell 8-0 in the debut contest, the night marked a milestone for Calhoun Athletics and for the student-athletes who are paving the way for the future of women's soccer at Calhoun.
Head Coach Andrew McCartney praised the team's resilience and effort in their inaugural outing. "This is the beginning of something special," McCartney said. "Every program has a first game, and I'm proud of how hard our players competed. We're building a foundation, and tonight was step one."
The Warhawks will continue their inaugural campaign tomorrow at Motlow, facing Eastern Florida State College, before returning home to host Southern Union State in the program's first-ever home match on August 29 at 4:00 p.m. at Jack Allen Recreation Complex.
